X Introduces Two New Subscription Plans: $16 and $3 per Month

X (formerly known as Twitter), has unveiled two new subscription services aimed at increasing its revenue.

The first service, Premium+, priced at $16 per month, provides an ad-free experience in the For You and Following sections, offers a substantial boost in reply visibility compared to other subscriptions, and grants access to creator tools.

The second service, a “basic” plan costing $3 per month, maintains regular ads but provides a small reply visibility boost, with subscribers unable to access X’s media studio or obtain a checkmark.

However, they gain the ability to edit posts and post longer text and videos. Both new plans are web-only offerings.

X’s $8 subscription, which replaced Twitter Blue, offers half the number of ads, a more significant reply visibility boost, and additional features like a checkmark, prioritized ranking in replies, and more.

Elon Musk, who now owns X, has been striving to improve its revenue, citing a 60% year-over-year drop in U.S. ad revenue.

He has also introduced a $1 per annum subscription model, humorously named “Not A Bot.”

The billionaire proprietor of X harbours grand aspirations for X, seeking to position it at the core of our financial affairs.
