Samsung Launches World’s First 500Hz OLED Gaming Monitor and Expands Odyssey G7 Lineup

Samsung America announced today the launch of the Odyssey OLED G6, the world’s first OLED gaming monitor with a 500Hz refresh rate. The company also added two new curved displays to its Odyssey G7 lineup — a 37-inch and a 40-inch model. All three monitors are now available for purchase in the U.S.

The 27-inch Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF) features a 500Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, and QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440) powered by QD-OLED technology. The display is certified with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 and supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

Samsung said the OLED G6 is designed for extended gaming sessions. It includes Glare Free technology to reduce screen reflections and OLED Safeguard+ to help prevent burn-in. The monitor also carries a three-year warranty.

Color accuracy is another focus of the OLED G6. The display is Pantone Validated and capable of reproducing more than 2,100 colors and 110 Pantone SkinTone shades.

The updated Odyssey G7 lineup introduces two curved displays with different resolutions and refresh rates. The 37-inch model features a 1000R curved screen, 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160). The 40-inch model offers a wider 21:9 aspect ratio, 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and WUHD resolution (5,120 x 2,160). Both monitors are VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified and support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

Additional features include Auto Source Switch+, CoreSync lighting, and ergonomic stands. The 40-inch version also supports multitasking features such as Picture-by-Picture and Picture-in-Picture.
