Binance Says 90% of Assets Affected by Security Incident Have Been Replenished, Targets Sunday Withdrawal Resumption

Binance says it has replenished 90% of assets affected by its recent security incident and remains on track to resume withdrawal services on Sunday, November 1, 2026, as the cryptocurrency exchange moves to restore normal operations.

In an update sent to customers on Saturday, October 31, Binance said the replenishment level had increased from approximately 80% in its previous update, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, BNB, Solana, USD Coin, XRP, USD1, RLUSD and Zcash now fully backed at 100%.

The company said the remaining 10% comprises less liquid cryptocurrencies outside the top ten digital assets by market position, which may take longer to acquire through market purchases and over-the-counter transactions.

Binance said the replenishment has been funded through a combination of its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU), a portion of its Futures Insurance Fund and its corporate treasury.

The exchange expects the partial deployment of SAFU funds to be completed within 24 hours, while maintaining a remaining balance in its Futures Insurance Fund.

The company said it would continue purchasing the outstanding assets until all affected tokens reach 100% coverage, working with industry partners to source less liquid cryptocurrencies.

New Proof of Reserves Snapshot

Binance has also published a fresh Proof of Reserves snapshot dated October 31, 2026, at 00:00 UTC, as part of efforts to demonstrate that customer assets remain backed.

The exchange said its zero-knowledge proof verification process takes approximately 40 to 50 hours to generate, with completion expected on Tuesday, November 3.

Once completed, holders of the ten identified cryptocurrencies will be able to independently verify that their assets are backed at a minimum ratio of 1:1.

Withdrawals Expected to Resume Sunday

The next major milestone is the restoration of withdrawal services, with Binance maintaining that it expects to reopen withdrawals on Sunday, November 1.

However, the exchange has not yet announced a confirmed reopening time, saying it will communicate further details once they are available.

Binance also reiterated that it would cover all direct losses associated with the security incident, pledging to demonstrate its recovery through asset replenishment, transparent reporting and measurable progress.

The latest update comes as the exchange works to restore customer confidence following the incident, with the resumption of withdrawals and completion of asset replenishment remaining key indicators of its recovery.
