For the next two years, Telecom Egypt has said that is has no short term intention of selling its 45 percent shares it has in Vodafone Egypt.

If 4G license is awarded, says Telecom Egypt, it will reconsider the decision as there has been enormous speculation that the company will be selling its shares upon the issuance of the license. The license is expected to be issued in the next two years.

Telecom Egypt pointedly noted that the options while including the obvious sale of its stake in the local Vodafone operations, it could also seek to buy Vodafone out as well.
