LG Electronics’ G3 has made its debut in the Kenyan market as its guns for the top positioning in the smartphone category. The phone which is billed for shoring up the electronics manufacture’s last quarter financial will be retailing at Ksh59,999.

The G3 is the World’s First QHD phone comes with an astounding resolution is one of the highest ever for a cell phone, measuring in at a 2560 x 1400 ratio with 538 pixels per square inch (PPI). Modern 1080p screens manage only 400 PPI and Apple’s well received “Retina Display” contains only 326 PPI.

The electronics manufacturer says its aim was to make life simpler and smarter. The new gadget shoots—pictures—better than the G3 riffle. The speed demon boasts of 13MP OIS+ (Optical Image Stabilizer Plus) camera with a revolutionary Laser Auto Focus that can shoot stunningly sharp images in a fraction of the time required by conventional phone cameras.

The G3’s advanced 13MP OIS+ camera is designed to quickly and easily capture life’s special moments as they occur, not necessarily when you want them to occur. This is made possible with G3’s innovative Laser Auto Focus, the first of its kind in the smartphone industry. This technology enables the G3 to capture the best moment ― even in low light ― by measuring the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam.

But the G3 is not one trick pony, Moses Marji, the LG East Africa Marketing Manager says the G3 is the phone that will remind you to carry an umbrella for a rainy day and give you a part on your shoulder for accomplishing a scheduled task.

“The smartest innovation in a fast evolving smartphone market is creating harmony between advanced technology and a simplified user experience,” said Mr Marji. The following are features that make the LG G3.

LG Electronics mobile phone sales were 20 percent more than last year and the company attributed the impressive performance to the uptake of the acclaimed LG G3 and mid-range L series products, with LTE products accounting for more than one-third of all LG smartphones sold this year.

LG Electronics chalked up one of its most successful quarter profits with its smartphone sales recording a marked improvement after moving 14.5 million handsets over the last quarter.

The successor to the company’s well-received LG G2 is a culmination of consumer research based on LG’s product development philosophy, Learning from You. The phone which was developed under the theme Simple is the New Smart concept comes with a fingerprint-proof  metallic skin and four times the resolution of HD and almost two times higher resolution than a Full HD display.

The G3’s breathtaking Quad HD display was the result of years of innovation in display technology. With a pixel density of 538ppi, the G3’s Quad HD display sets new viewing standard producing images that are sharper and clearer than traditional smartphone displays.
