The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Global Report (GEMGR) assesses the state of entrepreneurship in the world. The 2013 GEMGR report shows that there are proportionally more women entrepreneurs in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) than other world regions. In Ghana, 28% of women are entrepreneurs as compared to only 10% in the USA and 3% in France. The ratio of men to women entrepreneurs is almost equal in most SSA countries, with female entrepreneurs outnumbering their male counterparts in countries like Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia.
