Samsung-Unveils-the-Samsung-Z1-the-First-Tizen-Powered-Smartphone-for-Indian-ConsumersSamsung has finally launched its first Tizen powered $91 smartphone for consumers in India, but the Samsung Z1 lacks popular apps as there are few developers on the Tizen store, the Z1 is likely not be as popular as Samsung’s Android smartphones.

According to Mr. Hyun Chil Hong, President and CEO, Samsung India Electronics, “We have customized the Samsung Z1 to meet unique, entertainment-focused needs of local Indian consumers for a personal and reliable mobile experience.”

Powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 768 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card, the dual SIM phone has a 1500mAh battery enabling 7 hours of non-stop videos and 8 hours of talk time.
It aso has what the firm calls a superior 4” WVGA PLS screen, made with advanced Samsung technology to allow consumers to enjoy games, videos and other multimedia content to the fullest with crystal clear resolution.
Samsung says it will launch a free entertainment package called ‘Joy Box’, giving users access to music, TV and movies and free access to premium content available on Club Samsung-users can stream and download from over 270,000 songs, and watch over 80 live TV channels. The firm has also partnered with mobile Live TV service nexGTv and Box TV, bundled for three month, allowing consumers to watch their favourite TV shows and enjoy over 7000 Bollywood and Hollywood movies at around INR 1,750/- a year.Samsung-Z1-Product-Specifications1Available in White, Black and Wine Red, Z1 users will get up to 500MB of 3G data free every month over a 6 month period but it will be a long time for users to get access to apps like their counterparts in the Android ecosystem.
