Rocket Internet’s hotel booking platform Jovago.com, has hit one year in Western Africa with 20,000 hotels across the continent in a move to ease hotel booking in Africa.
Present in Dakar, Abidjan and Douala amongst others, Jovago has over 4,000 hotels in West Africa (and 800 hotels in Senegal), Jovago takes pride in its ability to provide an important link between hotels in Africa and a vast world of opportunities – offering even the most remote hotels a greater access to the world, than they could have thought possible through its online portal.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved in a year and Jovago aims to be a major player in the travel of people in West Africa” said Xavier Starkloff, Jovago’s Managing Director for West Africa during the celebration which was held in Dakar (Senegal) on Monday 9th of March 2015. “Developing tourism in West Africa is a long-term process involving not just Jovago but also hotel owners and tourism-related authorities” said again Xavier Starkloff.
With several competitors such as Hotels.ng in Nigeria, Jovago says it has over 20,000 verified local hotel listings across the continent and over 200,000 verified hotels listed around the world.
