As the main Innovation Africa Summit 2016 Event Partner, Microsoft is looking to build partnerships that design solutions in the education sector with technology and the power that the cloud brings, through the Innovation Africa platform that has over 200 government officials comprising of ministers, secretaries of state, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries, and director generals from over 30 countries.

Microsoft also works with governments, communities, schools and educators to use the power of information technology to deliver services and programs that provide learning for all, anytime, anywhere.

“We’re seeing a shift in the way we think about our education systems, based on intuitive nature with which the youth interacts with technology and the dramatic evolution we’re seeing in the 21st century workplace. In addition, the burgeoning youth population across Africa means we need to find a way to more effectively reach a greater number of students. Simultaneously, we need to allow them to learn in their own unique way, anytime, anyplace and at their own pace. Cloud computing, provision of devices to allow for immersive, mobile learning environments and teacher training are all contributing to this evolution and Innovation Africa is the perfect platform to discuss these solutions.” Commented Mark Chaban – Education Director, Microsoft Middle East and Africa

In addition, Innovation Africa 2016 unveils notable partners of the 2015 Summit; HP, Intel and IBM who spoke of the solutions, connectivity and networking opportunities the Summit provides.

“This is a unique opportunity to discuss with the decision-makers at the highest level. In two days we held 17 pre-scheduled meetings back-to-back.”Andrea Emiliani – Business Development, IBM.
