Internet Solutions (IS), formerly Access Kenya Group, will soon be offering consumption-based billing for businesses as opposed to the traditional fixed billing model. THis services will have businesses only pay for internet that they use, which cuts down on the overhead experienced during downtime and off-peak seasons.
MD Internet Solutions Richard Hechle said, “Bandwidth is widely considered a utility like power and water and users want it where and when they need it.” He added that enterprises now demand convenience and flexible consumption corresponding to their needs.”
According to IS, there has been an increase in demand for bandwidth in Kenya as the needs of businesses evolve.
IS is currently piloting the service.
