Lagos Startup Week 2018: How it all went down

As reported here, the fourth edition of the Lagos Startup Week 2018 held last week, and as always dished out the best and highest form of quality contents to its attendees. The week-long celebration of entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, investors and the Lagos ecosystem did not fall short of expectations in terms of value to their audience.

The week hosted thousands of attendees throughout the week and featured on its platform, the best professionals and entrepreneurs via panels, fireside chats and talks where stories and insights pivotal to the Lagos Startup ecosystem were shared.

Kick starting with a kickoff ceremony on Monday 24th September, Lagos Startup Week 2018 the week held over 20 events spanning across 10 tracks including Fintech, Retail innovation, Women, DevJam, and more which held at various venues in the city of Lagos.

The 2nd and 3rd day, Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th September featured masterclasses for entrepreneurs and startups which covered finances, marketing their products, addressing all legal needs and lots of other pain points affecting startup founders.

One pronounced event during the week was a portfolio review for photographers which was sponsored by Infinix Nigeria, and carried out by The Now Collectives where the winner went home with a brand new Infinix Note 5, a device with a very great camera to further push quality photos by photographers on mobile.

Officially ending the week were several panels – Fintech, Retail and investment – on Friday 28th, including an entrepreneur support panel by Village Capital and an official Closing Ceremony. International developer’s conference DevJam + Node.js held on Saturday 29th, which was the last event of the week.

According to Olumide Olayinka, Managing Partner Prime startups, who is the Chief Organiser of the event, “The week has over time proven to be of immense value to attendees, partners and sponsors. We curate and invite the best entrepreneurs, professionals and innovators to carve out a map forward for the city of Lagos.”
