We’re just a few weeks away from the launch of the OnePlus 7, and thanks to a host of rumours and leaks, we know quite a bit about the incoming flagship.
Release date
OnePlus has announced a May 14 three-venue launch event in New York, London, and Bangalore. The Chinese launch event will take place on May 16. The company is expected to unveil its “OnePlus 7 series,” and rumour has it that here’ll be at least two phones on offer: a standard model and a Pro variant. If you can’t make it to the show in person but want to catch the event online, it will be live streamed on 14 May via OnePlus’ website, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook channels.
The new OnePlus 7 models will be up for pre-order soon after, with a shipping date to be confirmed.

The OnePlus 7 is expected to be a powerhouse of a smartphone. OnePlus confirms that OnePlus 7 will be the first core OnePlus model with multiple variants – including one with higher-end components, another with 5G capabilities, a pop-up selfie cam and 3x optical zoom on the back.
Display and Camera
The OnePlus 7 sports a 6.4-inch bezel-less Super AMOLED FHD display with 1,080 x 2,340-pixel screen resolution with a sharp density of 403 PPI, and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone is protected by Gorilla Glass v6.
Confirmed by the brand, it’s believed that the standard model will offer two rear cameras, while the Pro device is confirmed to offer three rear cameras. Wired has spent time with the phone too, revealing that it has a 3X zoom rear camera. Of which isn’t as big a leap as the Huawei P30 Pro and its 5X periscope camera and the OPPO Reno touting 10x zoom, but it’s certainly an improvement on paper over 2X telephoto shooters.
Battery and Configuration
When it comes to the battery, the OnePlus 7 carries a 3,700mAh Li-Po battery with dash fast charging support.
Although some smartphone users may find one thing frustrating, the wireless charging feature won’t be seen on the OnePlus 7.
Under the hood, is an octa-core processor with a speed of 2.84GHz, accompanied by a 6GB RAM that delivers a quality performance while running multiple tasks. Besides that, there will be an Adreno 640 GPU set to handle the graphical needs of the system. The OnePlus 7’s entire configuration is seated on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Storage and Connectivity
The OnePlus 7 smartphone stocks a 128GB fixed internal storage with no expandability, 4G LTE and VoLTE, Wi-Fi and latest Bluetooth v5.0 are available. Location is A-GPS and Glonass based. It Supports NFC and comes with USB type-C, and has a 3.5 mm audio jack.
