Cars45, a Nigerian automotive trading platform operated by Frontier Car Group, which raised $22m from EchoVC in 2017, $58m in May 2018 and $89m in the same month from Naspers, has launched in Kenya.

The firm is promising Kenyans the fastest way to buy, sell or swap their cars at an affordable budget.

Frontier Car Group announced the launch of Cars45 in Ghana and Kenya last year. Frontier Car Group targeted South Africa’s Johannesburg, Cape Town and Pretoria with “car inspection lots” for its premium services.

The firm’s Premium Inspection Service allows Cars45 to reach individuals who are unable to visit any of its inspection centers but would still like to use its service to sell their cars. The premium inspection service attracts an upfront payment to allow the firm to send an inspector to the seller’s preferred location to inspect, provide a valuation report and purchase the car.

Cars45 is a consumer-first and value-driven business as such we are always seeking new and innovative ways to make the car trading process as seamless as possible for consumers. With this premium inspection service, we are enabling convenience and offering consumers best-in-class experience,” said Vice President, Consumer-to-Business services, Mayokun Fadeyibi on the launch of the Premium Inspection Service in Lagos.

Cars45 also provides fleet liquidation, vehicle auctions, concierge services and vehicle financing which it does in partnership with financial institutions. TechMoran is yet to find out the Cars45 partners in Kenya but will update the article with more information.

The car marketplace for used vehicles is expected to create delightful consumer experiences in Kenya and take on Ringier One Africa Media’s Cheki which has been the biggest and most preferred platform in the market. Cars45 will also grapple with the number of growing secondhand car dealers using Facebook, auctioneers and several other players in Kenya.

Cars45 recently launched car importation to allow its users to easily import their cars via its online platform without the hassle of doing all the paperwork and tracking on their own.
