These are the list of Kenyan Internet Service Providers you should know.
We all know two major internet service providers and there’s one in particular that a lot of people complain about (not mentioning companies here) so its important to know that you’re not only stuck with the two obvious service providers. Internet has also quickly become a necessity and this is a fact since the first thing people ask for even before asking how you’re doing is the WiFi password, so which providers are these? see the list below.
1.Safaricom home
We obviously had to start with the most obvious option because it offers the fastest speed in the country it is also among the most expensive ones, with the pricing being Ksh 2,900 for 5Mbps and Ksh 11,499 for 40Mpbs every month. Despite the high prices, Safaricom is one of the best internet providers in Kenya.
2.Faiba
If you’re in business and you’re looking for a provider that is fast and reliable then this is the package for you. Faiba can still be found in selected towns all over the country. The portable Faiba MiFi is their most sought device by far because it can be carried anywhere, making it a reliable solution for unlimited internet in Kenya. They have different data plans, including 1GB for Ksh 50, 8GB for Ksh 300 and 25GB for Ksh 1,000.
3.Airtel
We can’t fail to add this company on our list especially because their packages have not only improved but they are also a lot better and are closely competing with Safaricom. The company is one of the cheapest internet providers in Kenya. Airtel smart home comes with a wireless router that can serve up to 8 users.
The Airtel 4G pocket Wi-Fi costs KSH 4,499 and has the following bundles:
2.5GB at Ksh 250 for 1 week
5GB at Ksh 500 for 1 month
18GB at Ksh 1000
For 1 month 40GB at Ksh 2000
For 1 month 70GB at Ksh 3000 for 1 month.
4.Zuku
Who remembers how exciting it was when Zuku came around? their packages seemed a bit too expensive, they didn’t have much competition but they not only came with internet but they also offer TV package and also only internet package which a number of homes still use.
The packages are not fixed but come in different plans that range from Ksh 2499 for 10Mbps to Ksh 4999 for 60Mpbs. Furthermore, clients can get personalized plans depending on their needs.
5.Telkom
After Safaricom and Airtel as telcos comes Telkom and in case you haven’t used their services all you need to know is that they are rather fast. The ISP has several unlimited internet plans that come with specified data caps under what is referred to as the fair usage policy (FUP). With this capped plan, users can opt for the 10GB weekly subscription at Ksh 1000. The good thing is that if it gets exhausted, the subscriber can still browse but at a lower speed of 256 Kbps. There is also a 1 month 30 GB data plan that costs KSH 3000.
6.Poa
The company specializes in home broadband connections with up to 4Mpbs at a relatively cheap monthly fee of Ksh 1500 only. The packages give access to unlimited data usage without any data caps.
7.Elink networks
Elink provides the best quality of internet network with high speeds and outstanding reliability. The firm’s services include unlimited home internet connection for plans that range from 7Mbps to 15Mbps. The lowest package for Ksh 2499 per month for 8Mbps and installation is free for the residential internet service.
8.Hai internet
The company’s lowest internet package goes for Ksh 2874, but there are other costlier packages depending on your needs.
Quite frankly there are some providers on this list I’ve never heard of anyone using and that’s probably because they haven’t marketed enough but going by some of the fair pricing it might just be worth a try.
