What to Do After Purchasing a New Android Phone.

Congratulations on your new smartphone! And I’m sure you can’t wait to get your hands on it. However, before you do so, there are a few decisions you should make right away. It will not only improve your overall phone experience, but it will also help you be more productive in the long run. Now, let’s look at how to make the most of it during setup.

  • Check out the Device

Before you boot up your smartphone after purchasing it, you should thoroughly inspect it. You should review your warranty information and take notes of any extras.

  • Take a Look at The Phone

If you purchased a phone from an online retailer such as Amazon, Flipkart, or others, you should first examine the phone itself. Because your phone has travelled a long distance to reach you, double-check that everything is in working order and that nothing is broken. If you discover any broken items, make sure to request a replacement warranty.

  • Prepare Your Phone

Make sure your phone is charged. This is most likely why smartphone manufacturers advise you to fully charge your phone before using it, as they do not want to disappoint you on the first use.

  • Connect to Wi-Fi

Because this is your first time using a smartphone and you need to install a lot of apps, connecting to Wi-Fi appears to be a better option. As a result, connecting to a Wi-Fi network is always the best choice.

  • Log into Google and let the magic flow

When you first turn on your device, a walkthrough will walk you through the setup process. You can skip this step if you want, but we strongly advise against it. Logging into Google connects your device to a slew of other services, and it’s the first step toward customizing your phone.

  • Disable bloatware

Once your phone is operational, navigate to the Apps menu in Settings and locate any apps that came pre-installed on your device. You may not be able to uninstall them, but you can disable them and uninstall any updates, which will reduce the amount of space they take up. When you disable an app, it will no longer appear in the app drawer.

  • Set up your space and get some new apps too

You can also experiment with a different launcher, download some new games, or select a new music player. If you don’t like the keyboard that came with your device, try out Swiftkey, Chrooma, or Minuum. These analyze your typing habits and make texting a breeze.

It’s also worth noting that you’ll still need to sign in to Facebook, WhatsApp, Netflix, and any other services you use.

After you’ve installed all of the apps, you can begin customizing the device to your liking. You can change the wallpaper and ringtones on your phone, as well as customize the home screen with app shortcuts and widgets.

  • Secure your device

Your phone contains a lot of sensitive information, especially if you use it for banking, shopping, or ordering pizza. It is critical to put in place strong security measures to protect your privacy and identity. On the majority of Android phones, two security options are available: a PIN and a pattern lock. Many of them also include a fingerprint scanner or facial recognition software.

  • Check that everything is up to date!

You can check for the most recent software updates by going to Settings > System > System Updates, though the exact path may vary slightly between devices.

You can also update the pre-installed apps by going to the Play Store, selecting “My apps & games” from the menu, and then tapping the “Update all” button at the top, if available.

  • Set up mobile data tracking

Go to your device’s settings, then tap on “Wi-Fi and Internet,” then “Data usage,” and then set the billing cycle and the amount of data your plan provides. Just keep in mind that the exact path will vary depending on your device.

The final and most important step is to enable a data warning and data limit.
