OnePlus has just launched an OxygenOS update for the OnePlus nine and OnePlus 9 Pro. Among the changes, this update mainly fixes security bugs and improves system stability. But the version notes also mention improvements on the photo part and stability improvements on the network part.

OnePlus has just announced on its blog a new update for the OnePlus nine and OnePlus nine pro. This OxygenOS 11.2.5.5 update is essentially incremental, mainly containing improvements and fixes. OxygenOS 11.2.5.5 does not provide any new functionality.

The version notes do, however, give some interesting details. First, in addition to the ongoing improvements in stability and performance, we move on to the Android security bulletin of May 2021 – bulletin that deals with some critical security flaws Qualcomm – without correcting to our knowledge the severe security flaw CVE-2020-11292 that affects 40% of Android smartphones.

What Is New?

The update also improves performance when recharging and fixes a latency issue on the keyboard. On the photo side, OnePlus announces improvements in the HDR effect on some shots and improved the white balance on the main photosensor module.

Finally, OnePlus announces network stability improvements and performance improvements to the WiFi connection. As can be read on the firm’s forums, the update does not correct the overheating problems found by some users. The firm seems to advise sometimes to recalibrate the load periodically to restore the factory parameters without having the slightest effect.

According to user feedback, overheating problems occur after the photo app is opened. For the rest, the update weighs 120MB in total. It is delivered as always in OTA. To install it, you have to go to the settings > system update. If the update is available, you can start installing it from this screen.
