The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra would have the same zoom capabilities as the S21 Ultra. The S22 and S22 Plus should improve on photography. Six months after its release, the Galaxy S21 Ultra remains the market benchmark for high-end Android smartphones, with especially very high capabilities in terms of photography.

And as for the photo block, the Galaxy S22 Ultra should follow the same formula as its predecessor if we believe the information from the Dutch media Galaxy Club. Samsung would once again bet on the presence of two telephoto lenses for its flagship, including a periscopic, to ensure an incredible zoom quality. Both sensors would be 10 megapixels, as on the S21 Ultra. The Galaxy S22 Ultra would offer an optical zoom up to 10x, again like this year’s model.

The South Korean manufacturer used the photo as an argument to tout its Galaxy S Ultra so far, with significant innovations brought by the S20 Ultra and then the S21 Ultra. It seems that a break in the race for photo hardware will be in order with the S22 Ultra.

50 Mp sensor for Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus

Samsung should, on the other hand, improve the photo part of the fewer premium models. The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus are expected with a 50 Mp main photosensor, compared to 12 Mp for the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus. This is not necessarily an indicator of a quality increase in itself, but no doubt that Samsung will exploit these new modules to improve the rendering of photos. The Galaxy S22 series will be officially announced by Samsung next January or February. Until then, we can expect many leaks revealing the technical specifications and design of the devices.
