Leading private jet charter broker, Jet Compare announced today an unprecedented surge in bookings over summer 2021.
Jetcompare spokesperson, Jan-Friedrich Gyles said: “Compared to the covid summer of 2019, we are up 200%, in terms of bookings. We have done a big marketing push this year and it is paying off. However, we cannot ignore the effects of things starting to get back to normal in terms of travel” said Jan-Friedrich.
Among the usual routes there is growing interest for the London-Malaga one. Why is you may ask? He explains: “Well the route demand is mainly driven by high net worth (HNWI) and ultra high net worth (UHNW) individuals who have residences in Marbella, as Malaga is the closest private jet airport”.
He explains that many clients see it as an exciting alternative to Monaco, up-and-coming in terms of amenities but with even better weather and the fabulous Spanish lifestyle and fast train links to the capital Madrid for business. .
While we can only envy those who have fancy villas in the swish areas of Marbella like Nueva Andalucía and La Zagaleta, the less well heeled can still enjoy flights to southern Europe in November, when the weather is still good.
Jan-Friederich agrees, “we see a lot of demand from mid-October to late November for those Northern European clients who want to extend their summer. With temperatures in places like Marbella and Sicily still in the pleasant low 20s, like an average summer day in London, it is no surprise that the rich are heading off to warmer climes as the UK descends into dark and cold”.
