Huawei has increased its training in Kenya in order to increase the country’s number of Information Communication Technology (ICT) experts.

At least 200 high-level advanced ICT experts and 5,000 ICT technical experienced professionals are expected to be trained at the Huawei Training Centre in Nairobi. The Chinese technology company intends to train an additional 2,500 civil servants and 12,000 graduates.

We have partnered with 80 institutions of higher learning to provide their ICT students with practical ICT exposure with modern machines,” Dalmar Abdi, Huawei Kenya’s Chief Public Relations Officer.

The African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute houses the Huawei Training Centre in Kenya (AFRALTI). It also serves 28 African countries in East, Central, and Southern Africa.

The training center will accept associate, professional, and expert learners, with a focus on practical learning. Learners must have some experience in the ICT industry.

Huawei will give students hands-on experience with a wide range of cutting-edge technology. This includes mobile networks, fiber networks, energy solutions, and other integrated telecommunications systems, among others.

University students, telecommunications operators, government ICT officers, network contractors, and industry partners are among the target audiences. The courses concentrate on the most recent global trends in the application of modern technology across all industries.

“We remain committed to supporting Kenya to develop its ICT skills across various levels and more so in government services to better serve Kenyans. We will continue supporting the country not only in building ICT infrastructure but also to transfer knowledge through various courses to ensure there are well-skilled professionals in the market,” said Dalmar Abdi.
