Lexus RX debuts in 4 versions, 3 are hybrids

Toyota has unveiled the fifth generation of their best selling Lexus, the RX. The SUV will have four versions to choose from, and three of those are hybrids. However, the automaker only announced specifications of 3 versions, the last one will be revealed later.

Starting with the RX 350, its specs are as follows 

2.4-Liter Turbo Four-Cylinder

8-Speed Automatic gear 

275 horsepower 

317 LB-FT of torque 

Fuel economy of 24 MPG

Acceleration of 7.5 Seconds FWD / 7.2 Seconds AWD from 0 to 100km/h

Next is the RX 350H

2.5-Liter Four-Cylinder Hybrid

CVT gear 

246 horsepower 

233 LB-FT of torque 

Fuel economy of 33 MPG

Acceleration of 7.4 Seconds from 0 to 100km/h in AWD

Lastly we have the new RX 500h F Sport Performance. 

2.4-Liter Turbo Four-Cylinder Hybrid

6-Speed Automatic gear 

367 horsepower 

406 LB-FT of torque 

Fuel economy of 26 MPG

Acceleration of 5.9 Seconds from 0 to 100km/h in Direct4 AWD

The F Sport Performance version gets extra goodies such as six-piston brake calipers, 21-inch wheels and a different mesh pattern that has a woven design.

The 4th version will be the RX 450h+ PHEV that will arrive later. 

The 2023 RX will be available in six trim levels: Standard, Premium, Premium+, Luxury, F Sport Handling, and F Sport Performance. On the exterior, there will be 10 colors available: Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Copper Crest, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, and Grecian Water. All versions have full-width taillights at the rear.

Inside, the RX has an infotainment screen next to the instrument cluster rather than being on top of the dashboard. There is an option to have a display that is 14 inches in size, a head-up display and a panorama glass roof.

Standard in all models of the 2023 RX is the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. The suite of tech includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, intersection support with motorcycle detection, dynamic radar cruise control with curve speed management, lane departure alert with steering assist, and an emergency driving stop system.

An Advanced Park system which now supports parallel parking will be available as an option. 

Sales of the 2023 RX will begin in late 2022 but pricing details have not been revealed yet.
