Apple unveiled the new MacBook Air, which features an M2 chip of the most recent version, at WWDC 2022. We now have precise information regarding the product’s availability after several weeks of waiting.
According to the apple brand, pre-orders will begin on July 8, 2022, at precisely 2 p.m. The actual promotion of the product will start a week later, on July 15, as is customary for Apple. The MacBook Air M2 will appear on distributor shelves and at Apple Stores on this day. Deliveries to customers who have placed advance orders will also start.
The Apple Silicon M2 chip used in the MacBook Air 2022 is expected to perform better than its predecessor. Because of more carefully managed energy consumption on the next iteration of its home SoC, Apple claims that this power increase will not come at the expense of autonomy.
But the MacBook Air has changed in more places than just its guts. It uses a slim design (11.3 mm) to make it even more portable. Apple has shortened the borders around the Liquid Retina display to give it more room, increasing its diagonal size from 13.3 to 13.6 inches without expanding the computer’s total size. The brightness of the latter increases from 400 to 500 nits.
A MagSafe power supply socket, two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, and a 3.5 mm jack for wired audio enthusiasts make up the connection. We also take notice of the redesigned Magic Keyboard keyboard, the four integrated speakers at the hinge, and the 1080p webcam.
There are four color options for the MacBook Air M2: Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Gray. The variant’s price with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD is 1,499 euros.
