According to the kind of device you are using, Google has begun rolling out an upgrade to the Google Play Store that will tailor your app reviews.
This might make it simpler to predict how different devices, including tablets and wearables, will handle the software. This feature was first mentioned by Google in August 2021 and was supposed to launch in the first quarter of 2022, however it hasn’t appeared yet.
The Play Store confirmed that consumers won’t be seeing the same reviews after The Verge observed this modification was subtly implemented.
How will it be useful?
Given that Android apps come in a variety of forms, such as the Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 and the Oppo Find X5, users will find this capability to be of great value. You don’t need to read a tonne of reviews about the app’s phone versions if you want to install it on your smartwatch. It’s crucial to remember that the feature doesn’t care about the physical model you carry; it only cares about the type of device you have.
‘Ratings are based on recent reviews from people in your region who use the same type of device that you use. Reviews are provided by people with a verified Google account based on the experience with apps they have downloaded.’
How to see reviews:
- Open Google Play Store.
- Select an app to download.
- On the app page, tap Ratings and Reviews.
- Select the filter option.
- Under the Sort Reviews By list, choose This Device Model. Now you will see the personalized reviews.
