A trial by YouTube to only allow its Premium subscribers access to 4K content has been “turned off,” according to the company. Everyone should be able to access 4K quality without any limits or expensive memberships, the company announced on Twitter.
“we’ve fully turned off this experiment. viewers should now be able to access 4K quality resolutions without Premium membership. we’re here if you have other q’s” YouTube said.
Users reportedly noticed “Premium” next to the 2160p setting in their YouTube app last month. Few consumers reported it, indicating that the corporation was only conducting A/B testing.
