iPhone Fold

Apple has been working on a foldable phone for a while and the wait is almost over. After a year of reverse engineering and multiple trial and error, Tech Aesthetics has come up with a clamshell foldable out of iPhone X internals and the chassis of a Motorola Razr 2019, called iPhone V.

The project’s creators took an iPhone X screen, and removed the glass cover and touch layers, leaving the flexible OLED in place. It took a total of 37 iPhone X displays and involved complex machinery and precise maneuvers before they got a usable screen.

Additionally, two Motorola Razr 2019s were disassembled in order to fit the internals of an iPhone X. The group assembled a unique motherboard using 3D-printed parts. Due to size constraints, compromises had to be made, and the phone now has a 1,000 mAh battery cell that regrettably does not allow wireless charging or MagSafe.

After completing the hardware component, the Tech Aesthetics team began modifying iOS with jailbreak tweaks to better accommodate the folding screen. The resulting product may utilize both sides of the foldable display and allows split-screen instances of programs.
