The Canadian rapper Drake has once again been the most-listened-to artist in Kenya on the Spotify music streaming service.

The “Knife Talk” rapper topped the list of the Top 10 Most Streamed Artists in Kenya in the year-end Spotify Wrapped statistics released by the international platform on Wednesday. He also placed first on the list the year before.

Burna Boy, a singer from Nigeria, came in second, followed by Chris Brown and The Weeknd, with Future rounding out the top five. Burna Boy is the only African artist in the list of the top five most streamed artists in the country.

Five albums were all released in 2022, which was cited as a possible explanation for the high number of streams they received in the nation. Drake released two albums this year alone, “Her Loss” (co-written by American rapper 21 Savage) and “Honestly, Nevermind,” while Burna Boy, Chris Bown, The Weeknd, The Weeknd, and Future all released albums. Future also released “I Never Liked You.”

American rappers Lil Baby and Gunna, Nigerian superstar Fireboy DML, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, and Kendrick Lamar round out the Top 10 list of performers.

In contrast, the Afropop boy band Sauti Sol, followed by Wakadinali, Buruklyn Boyz, Otile Brown, and Nyashinski, received the greatest attention from Kenyans in the category of Kenyan musicians.

The Top 10 was completed by Khaligraph Jones, Bensoul, Bien, Nviiri the Storyteller, and Bien.

At the same time, here are the most streamed playlists by Kenyans in 2022:

1. African Heat

2. Hot Hits Kenya

3. Afro Hits

4. Today’s Top Hits

5. Afropop
