The upcoming Connected Summit 2023 is an event that brings together regional and global ICT industry leaders, policymakers, executives, financiers, and innovators. The summit which is jointly organized by the Ministry of Information Communication and private sector stakeholders aims to nurture innovative ideas and partnerships that leverage technology to advance Kenya’s development agenda and also to establish a platform for collaboration, capacity building, and knowledge sharing between government and the ICT sector.
Under the theme Digital Economy Endless Opportunities Shaping our Future.The Connected Summit 202which will take place in April 2nd to 5th seeks to offer stakeholders a platform to discuss technology trends that are crucial in shaping Kenya’s digital economy such as Smart Nation, Smart Cities and Smart Industries, Data Protection, Future of Work, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Public and Private Sector Partnerships, Digital Trade ,and the role of women in Technology .These are essential to the growth and development of the industry.
Smart Nations, Smart Cities, and Smart Industries, use information and communication technologies (ICT) to increase operational efficiency, share information with the public and improve both the quality of government services and citizen welfare.Smart cities are examples of massive IoT use cases such as use of sensors, and artificial intelligence to collect and analyze data to improve services such as transportation, waste management, energy consumption, and public safety. At the Connected Summit 2023, participants will explore the concept of Smart Nations, Smart Cities, and Smart Industries and how they can be leveraged to advance Kenya’s digital economy.
With regard to Data protection, the summit aims to discuss the possibility of shaping a standard regional data policy in order to create a level playing field for businesses and to enhance consumer trust in the digital economy. The introduction of the digital economy has resulted to the rise of data as a valuable asset. It is therefore imperative to put in place comprehensive data protection policies which will protect the privacy and security of personal information.
The Connected Summit 2023 will also explore on the Future of Work and how companies can leverage technology to create a more efficient, productive, and inclusive workplace.

Despite gender disparities, women continue to break barriers and achieve success in the digital space.
