Chipper Cash, Africa’s leading fintechs, marks its fifth year of operation this July. To celebrate, the company is looking to showcase the immense talents of African designers on the world stage by inviting open submissions to design the next official Chipper football jersey.

The winning design will be made into the company’s next jersey and worn by global icons such as Burna Boy and Patrice. Chipper is also awarding cash prizes for designs placed in first, second and third place. The contest is open until 26 May 2023.

Goldie Iyamu, Marketing Campaign Manager at Chipper Cash, explains: “At Chipper, we know football is a powerful tool for bridging boundaries, forging lasting relationships, and driving positive change – it is the same sentiment we take into building financial services that empower Africans globally. We’re hoping to harness the immense creative talent across the continent by giving designers a breakthrough opportunity and create an iconic jersey that inspires us all.”

Chipper has long supported all levels of football, from backing community matches in Kenya and Nigeria, to bringing Africa to the World alongside soccer legend, Patrice Evra. By uniting the creative forces of African designers with the beautiful game itself – football – the competition aims to reflect the heartbeat of Africa.
