BMW and AirConsole have teamed up to bring gaming to the all-new electric i5 and its non-electric siblings in the new 5-Series lineup.
The 2024 BMW 5 Series premiered just two days ago, with an evolutionary exterior design and a revolutionary features in the interior. For instance the fully electric BMW i5, features a dual-screen layout with a 12.3-inch driver’s display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen where the gaming functionality will be hosted.
BMW has collaborated with AirConsole, a gaming platform created by Zurich-based company, N-Dream, to integrate simple arcade and casual games into the infotainment screens of the new 5 Series. In addition, there will be a special BMW i5 with a unique gaming aesthetic produced by the firm’s design staff to commemorate the gaming partnership .
Racing, sports, trivia, music quiz, simulation, strategy, jump-and-run, and puzzle games are all accessible on AirConsole. New games will be added throughout the next few months.
According to BMW, all you have to do is scan a QR code on the central display to link your smartphone to the car’s iDrive 8.5 infotainment system. The smartphone will serve as a game controller, and all car occupants will be able to play when the vehicle is stationary.
BMW added that the gaming functionality will be expanded to other models, including the 7 Series, iX, i4, and those equipped from the factory with iDrive 8.5 and manufactured after July of this year.
