Samsung has announced that its Galaxy Flip and Fold 5 are officially available for sale in Kenya at 193,000 Shillings and 325,000 Shillings respectively after their pre-orders surpassed targets by over 25% cementing Samsung’s position as the market leader in the Foldable smartphone category.
The successful pre-order has been supported by the strategic partnership with device financing partner Absa Kenya who allowed Absa Credit Card customers to finance their devices at over three, six, nine or twelve month periods. An option to Trade-in their devices with Badili Africa also contributed highly to the success of the pre-order period.
‘The Fold has always been the driver for the Foldable smartphone category but this year we have seen a shift in purchase trends, with a higher number of purchases for the Flip. We can attribute this to the acquisition steps we have taken like partnership with Badili Africa who offer trade in service and our new partnership with Absa Kenya who offer device financing payment methods which will allow our customers to acquire these devices,” said Mr Charles Kimari, Director of Mobile Experience Samsung Electronics East Africa.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Z Fold 5, Galaxy Watch 6 series and Galaxy Tab S9 series are also available at Samsung authorised dealer stores nationwide.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 are the fifth generation of Samsung’s revolutionary foldable devices and were launched together with the Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 are available for purchase from 25th August 2023 starting at 325,000 for the Samsung Fold 5 and Kshs. 193,000/ for the Samsung Flip 5. Customers that purchase the Fold 5 will receive a free slim S pen cover while customers who purchase the Flip will receive 30% off on the Galaxy watch 6 . Flip5 and Fold 5 also come with Samsung Care+ a support service for accidental screen damage protection. The cover is for one screen damage incident, is valid for 12 months and registration must be done within 30 days from date of device purchase. A repair fee is payable per incident when claiming.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is available in three models: the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, S9+ and S9. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is offered in colours inspired by nature: Mint, Graphite, Cream and Lavender as well as a range of accessories including a Clear Gadget Case and Flipsuit Case. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be available in a selection of sophisticated colours: Icy Blue, Phantom Black and Cream with new accessories including a Slim S Pen Case that offers both practicality and style.
The Galaxy Watch6 comes in two size options: 44mm in Graphite and Silver, and 40mm in Graphite and Gold. The Galaxy Watch6 Classic, with its fan-favourite rotating bezel, is available in 43mm and 47mm sizes, in Black and Silver.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series comes in two colours Beige and Graphite and is available in three sizes: 14.6-inch for the Tab S9 Ultra, 12.4-inch for the Tab S9+, and 11-inch for the Tab S9.
