Huawei showed its largest electric SUV so far, the Aito M9. It is the latest addition to the young Aito brand, a product of their partnership with Seres, and the natural next step after the M5 which has massive 1100km of range.
Just like the other Aito cars, Huawei will offer its expertise in vehicle software, chips, sensors and more while Seres will handle the assembly and whole manufacturing process.
The Aito M9 measures 5230/1999/1800 mm on its chassis with a 3110 mm wheelbase. The car uses 21-inch rims. It’s large enough to accommodate six people comfortably. It’s even larger than competitors like the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and the BMW iX.
Inside the cabin, the M9 features Huawei-made Harmony 4.0 cockpit system and Automated Driving Systems (ADS). The interior will also offer an independent screen for the co-passenger seat .
Two flavors of Aito M9 are available. The BEV variant boasts two e-motors, delivering a robust 530 hp. On the other hand, the EREV (range extender) version outputs 496 hp and features a 1.5-liter internal combustion engine acting as a generator.
Seres has already started producing the SUV and plans to output 700,000 vehicles annually. The Aito M9 will cost between $68,600-82,700 depending on the model and the official launch is happening in December.
