OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 12 during a special event in China to commemorate the company’s tenth anniversary. The new device brings back some features that were missing from the One Plus 11 while also improving in many other areas.
Firstly, the OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 1,440 x 3,168px resolution and a 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate. The screen has a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits for HDR content and 1,600 nits for normal content.
At the back is a Hasselblad-branded camera package that includes a 50 MP main shooter with Sony’s dual-layer stacked Lytia 808 sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Next to it is a 64 MP telephoto module with 3x optical zoom and up to 6x lossless zoom. The third sensor is an IMX581-based 14mm equivalent 48 MP ultrawide camera.
Boot up the device and you are welcomed by ColorOS 14.0, which is based on Android 14 in China and will most likely be known as OxygenOS 14 in international markets. One Plus 12 is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to a massive 24 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
The phone includes a 5,400 mAh dual-cell battery, the largest ever seen in a OnePlus device. In a twist of events, One Plus 12 supports up to 50W wireless charging, a feature that was missing on the One Plus 11. You also get 10W reverse wireless charging and wired charging speeds of up to 100W. In addition, the device features an IP65 classification for dust and water resistance.
The new flagship also supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity protocols, as well as an IR blaster and a USB Type-C 3.2 connector for speedier wired transfers.
The OnePlus 12 is available in black, emerald green, and white. In China, the 12/256GB variant costs CNY 4,299 ($607), while the 24GB RAM and 1TB storage model costs CNY 5,799 ($818). The OnePlus 12 is already available for pre-order in China, with sales beginning on December 11. International markets will have to wait until January 2024 for the global launch.
