How to view your Filed KRA Returns in Detail

The filing of KRA Returns is a crucial task that all Kenyan taxpayers must complete. Regardless of your employment status, you are legally obligated to file your KRA Returns by the deadline of June 30th, as specified by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). Failure to do so would result in a Kshs. 2,000 fine for late KRA Return submission.

It is imperative that taxpayers consistently submit their KRA Returns prior to the established deadlines expiring. You can quickly verify if you have filed KRA Returns by logging into your iTax (KRA Portal) account.

You must be able to access your iTax (KRA Portal) account using both your KRA PIN Number and KRA Password (iTax Password) in order to view filed KRA Returns. To see all of your submitted KRA Returns online and to log into your iTax account, you must use both of these credentials.

The fields Acknowledgment Number, Type of Return, Tax Obligation, Entity Type, Return Period From, and Return Period To are displayed on the Consult e-Returns Form once it loads. Although filling out these items is not required, you can always focus your search on KRA Tax Obligation and KRA Returns of a particular kind.

To see if you have filed KRA Returns on the iTax Portal, click the “Consult” option. A form containing all of the information about the KRA Returns you have filed on the KRA Portal will appear; if you have never filed any KRA Returns, you will receive a notice stating “No Records Found.”
