Google has announced a significant update for its Pixel devices, introducing new productivity tools and advanced health features.

The latest Feature Drop, unveiled by Mayra Fajardo, Product Marketing Manager at Google, promises to further integrate Pixel devices into users’ everyday lives.

For Pixel Phones:

Improved Call Screen: Call Screen receives enhancements, allowing users to initiate a call when the caller remains silent. This feature introduces a “hello” chip, prompting silent callers to speak, thus facilitating smoother communication.

Enhanced Media Sharing: Pixel phones now support vivid 10-bit HDR video sharing directly on Instagram Reels, along with Ultra HDR photo uploads on Instagram feeds, promising richer and more vibrant content sharing experiences.

Circle to Search Expansion: The innovative Circle to Search feature, previously available on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, will extend its functionality to Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro devices. This feature enables users to access additional information from Search without toggling between apps, simplifying the search process.

For First-gen Pixel Watch:

Advanced Workout Tracking: The first-generation Pixel Watch receives several upgrades, including Pace Training and Heart Zone Training functionalities. These features utilize built-in GPS and motion sensors to monitor workout progress, offering personalized pace goals and heart rate zone monitoring to optimize workouts.

Improved Workouts User Interface: The workouts user interface on the first-gen Pixel Watch undergoes a redesign, featuring larger text and brighter colors for enhanced readability and focus during workouts.

Convenient Workout Automation: Auto-start and auto-stop functionalities are introduced, eliminating the need for manual initiation or termination of workouts. The Pixel Watch automatically detects and manages activities such as running, walking, and cycling, enhancing user convenience.

Fitbit Relax Integration: Users can now access the Fitbit Relax app on the first-gen Pixel Watch, facilitating breathing exercises for post-workout relaxation and mindfulness.

Public Transit Directions: Google Maps integration on Wear OS enables Pixel Watch users to access public transit directions, providing real-time departure times and compass-enabled map views for efficient navigation.

For the Pixel Portfolio:

App Screen Sharing: Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, and newer Pixel phones introduce app screen sharing, allowing users to share specific applications during video calls for enhanced collaboration.

Improved Device Pairing: A revamped device pairing process simplifies the connection of previously used Bluetooth accessories to new Pixel devices, streamlining the setup experience.

Google Docs Markups: Google Docs now supports markups, enabling users to add handwritten annotations using fingers or styluses directly from their Pixel devices. This feature offers a range of tools for flexible document review and collaboration.

The new feature is set to roll out gradually over the coming weeks, enriching the Pixel experience with a blend of productivity enhancements and advanced health functionalities.
