German manufacturer Karcher has invested Sh428 million to establish a regional distribution center at Tatu City, aiming to become the leading provider of cleaning solutions in East Africa.

Located in Tatu City, Kenya, Karcher’s investment marks a significant step in operationalizing its business into a full subsidiary, complete with a regional distribution center at Freight Forwarders Solutions (FFS).

Christian May, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Sales Officer at Karcher, stressed the significance of this investment, stating, “Our objective is to revolutionize the cleaning industry in Kenya by introducing advanced products and services. By establishing Kenya as our regional hub, we aim to reduce lead times and enhance responsiveness, ensuring timely service and satisfaction for our customers.”

Stephen Jennings, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rendeavour, the developer of Tatu City, emphasized the addition of Karcher to the roster of leading global brands at Tatu City SEZ, noting the significant investments made by various businesses across sectors.

FFS, the company handling warehouse operations for Karcher in Kenya, operates an international-standard logistics and distribution hub at Tatu Industrial Park, offering inbound cargo, freight, and transport services across East and Central Africa.

Ben Clay, CEO of FFS, affirmed their commitment to empowering businesses with seamless logistics solutions, leveraging technology, and promoting excellence in service delivery and economic growth.

Sebastian Groth, Ambassador of the Republic of Germany to Kenya, highlighted the economic ties between Germany and Kenya, commending Karcher for its investment and expertise in cleaning technology.

Karcher has established a presence in seven Carrefour outlets and collaborated with various distributors to serve diverse customer segments. Its flagship store in Upper Hill, Nairobi, operated by Equipment and Logistics Limited, serves as a brand store and service center.

Tatu City, spanning 5,000 acres near Nairobi, offers homes, schools, businesses, recreational facilities, and more, catering to over 250,000 residents and tens of thousands of day visitors. Developed by Rendeavour, Tatu City represents a new urban living concept, free from traffic congestion and long commutes.

Karcher, headquartered in Winnenden, is a globally recognized family-owned company and the world leader in cleaning technology, offering a wide range of products for both B2B and B2C markets.
