During the unveiling of the Galaxy S24, Samsung offered a sneak peek at the Galaxy Ring for the first time. In the subsequent weeks, the South Korean company provided a more detailed look at its upcomimg Galaxy Ring, unveiling some of its key features. Apparently, the Galaxy Ring has surfaced within One UI, which could only mean one thing, the launch is imminent.
The Galaxy Ring has made an appearance within Samsung’s native Battery Widget. Upon adding the widget to the home screen and accessing its Settings menu, users can spot the Galaxy Ring listed alongside entries for the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Watch, and other devices. Given Samsung’s inclusion of the Galaxy Ring within the Battery Widget, it seems likely that the company will introduce its first smart ring within the coming weeks or months.
Those unfamiliar to the Galaxy Ring, here are some of it’s notable features, it comes equipped with a built-in heart rate sensor and sleep tracking functionality all stacked in a lightweight device that is available in various sizes and colors/finishes. Whether SpO2 blood oxygen monitoring and NFC-based payments will be integrated remains unconfirmed. The Ring delivers up to a week of battery life on a single charge which is impressive considering its small size. On the software side, the main highlight is Samsung Food, an app for meal planning and recipes.
Judging by its features, the Galaxy Ring is likely to be priced between the Galaxy Watch 4 and the Galaxy Fit. Samsung is also aiming to sell at least half a million units of the Galaxy Ring which is impressive for a version 1 product.
