Phone without WiFi? No problem.

You don’t have to be online to use your phone and scrolling app after app is not the main thing you can use your phone for.

There are a million and one uses for your phone, especially in those moments when you just want to be on your own, offline and without social media apps or links to blogs.

TechMoran has listed a number of activities you can do without your phone without a data connection or WiFi. It’s like  we are back in the early 90s but with a digital phone.

1. Text.

Yes, you can text your friends on SMS. There are various SMS packages offered by telecom providers depending on your country. Although excessive texting might rack up charges,  it is much cheaper than a data connection. It is additionally an awesome way of communicating with companions without any WiFi connection.

2. Call somebody.

This was the main purpose of using cell phones and is still the biggest phone use case. Though social networking is slowly taking over, you will need a WiFi connection to do that. To cut down your phone wage bill do the following;

  • Monitor your calls so that you don’t exceed the allocated minutes to avoid running out of your allocated minutes or incurring huge wage bills if you are on postpaid options.
  • Depending on your phone tariff or plan, if you are low on credit, you can ask your companions to call you back. Not all cell phone plans work this way, but a few only get to charge you only when you make the call and not when you receive it.

3. Listen to music.

You can download music to your phone and listen to the tracks offline. Some phones come with AM/FM radios allowing the user to listen to music any time they feel like. Also, if your phone has a memory card slot, you can have as many music files as possible to listen on the go without WiFi.

  • Wear earphones if you do not want the individuals around you singing along.
  • In the moment that you don’t have earphones, turn the volume low.

4. Take ‘selfies’.

Smartphone cameras and social media have made selfies a common trend. With good lighting, you can take perfect selfies to share with your companions later.

  • It is a good idea to take high-quality selfies and turn them into a collage later on.

5. Take scene pictures.

Another way of entertaining yourself without WiFi is to take pictures of your environment. You can take pictures of anything from the scenery to traffic, to wild animals and to buildings in the city. Pictures can be comforting and  are soothing especially after a long day at work. You can also take pictures and play around with photoshop and juxtapose yourself in various positions.

6. Play games.

Exceptionally often, cell phones have a few games that have been downloaded in advance that do not use WiFi. You’ll have to try a few of them out and see what you think of them.

  • Turn your data off to avoid using your credit or increasing your phone bill.

7. Sort out your calendar.

Let’s admit it, most individuals have a messy phone calendar that they are never bothered to sort out. Use this time to clean up your calendar to make it useful for later on.

8. Take notes.

What you need to get done later on can be recorded now to avoid unnecessary stress and confusion.
