The Galaxy Book5 Pro is being unveiled by Samsung, positioning it as a laptop designed to meet the demands of college students balancing assignments, lectures, and social life. The device features seamless integration with other Galaxy products, an expansive touchscreen, and long battery life, making it a central hub for campus multitasking.
The Galaxy Book5 Pro is built to connect effortlessly with Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Students can access notifications, send and receive messages, and use mobile apps directly from the laptop. Storage Share, introduced with One UI 7, allows smartphones and tablets to act as wireless storage for the Book5 Pro, making files and recordings easily accessible across devices.
The laptop also introduces advanced AI capabilities powered by an onboard AI Boost neural processing unit (NPU). This dedicated chip handles AI-specific tasks, enabling features such as transcription and summaries of recorded lectures and meetings. Samsung said the new NPU is designed to act as a personal assistant, helping students manage their digital workload.
A touchscreen display is included to streamline note-taking and multitasking. Students can highlight documents, annotate PDFs, and use AI-powered interactions like circling on-screen items to search instantly. The 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen delivers 3K resolution with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and an anti-reflective coating ensures visibility even in bright outdoor environments.
Battery life is another focus. Samsung said the Galaxy Book5 Pro can last up to 25 hours on a single charge. A 30-minute super-fast charging session restores about 35% of power, reducing reliance on power outlets during long study sessions. Despite the large battery, the laptop remains lightweight and portable.
