YouTube Music and Premium have crossed the 80 million subscribers mark according to a report by Variety, with most being YouTube Premium members. The service becomes the third largest paid music-streaming service behind Apple Music, Spotify, and Tencent (China-only).

The integration of Google with YouTube has played a key role in the success of the streaming platform, as well as creating a separate music service, and merging all fan and official profiles into one per artist.
