Kenya’s CanvasandKangas.com, derived from Canvas the hardened cotton cloth and Kanga, the soft African pure cotton cloth, is startup based at the Kenyan coast producing handmade lifestyle products from natural and local materials.

Founded in September 2014 by Alexander Potolidis who is originally from Netherlands, CanvasandKangas.com make handbags from Canvas and Kangas at their base at the Kenyan Coast.

“Our Mission is to use natural and local Kenyan materials and represent good quality craftsmanship for our lifestyle products. And give people a smile with our love for Kenya and create sustainable employment for the local people,” says the firm.

100% owned by UpindeGroup LTD, which Potolidis founded, Canvas & Kangas says every bag is designed individually using a combination of colourful local Kanga’s and strong Canvas for high quality bags and accessories hence creating employment with a fair wage. The firm produces lifestyle Bags, Envelope Bags, Clutch bags, Travel Bags, Shopper Bags, Beach Bags, Business Bags, IPad Sleeves, Yoga Meditation Pillows and custom made bags depending on a client’s interest.

The firm fulfill both local and international oders. Payments is either by PayPal or M-Pesa. Competition includes ZikoAfrika,  Soko, Mr Price, Woolworths, YoungFreddie among others.
