Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE), a British international telecommunications company, has announced that it will connect with Safaricom business as it plans to set up in Nairobi, Kenya.

Founded in 2007, VGE is focused on supporting businesses looking to establish multi-country presence. The firm’s intention to add Nairobi as part of its list has proven to be fruitful considering it already has ground in Accra, Ghana and Cairo, Egypt. The reported intention of the company is to use this presence to offer fixed and mobile services throughout the continent.

Ross Thomasson, Regional Director Africa for Vodafone Global Enterprise, is quoted as saying that most businesses want a single contract across multiple countries and that “companies are looking for ability and control.”

General Manager, Enterprise Business Unit at Safaricom, Sylvia Mulinge, is also quoted in the report and said the mobile network operator will use the partnership to provide services to clients located in areas the company does not have presence in.
