zyngaaSocial gaming company Zynga has launched in South Africa allowing users to download and play games such as CastleVille Legends
Draw Something 2, Respawnables, Running With Friends,  Solstice Arena, What’s the Phrase? and Zynga Poker.

Zynga’s launch will give players in South Africa a variety of games to play. The firm was earlier responsible for five of Facebook’s Top 10 games. It laos has popular games like FarmVille, Frontierville, Mafia Wars, Zynga Poker, Café World, YoVille, Petville, and Fishville.

Players can get the games on Facebook, MySpace, Tagged, Bebo, Friendster, Yahoo! and as downloads. Outside the US, the firm has operations in India, Japan and China.

Everything is not fine though with the 2007 launched firm. It’s second quarter revenues stood at $231 million,  31% decrease compared to the second quarter of 2012 and  a 12% decrease compared to the first quarter of 2013. Its online game revenue stood at  $203 million, a decrease of 30% compared to the second quarter of 2012 and a decrease of 11% compared to the first quarter of 2013.

The firm made just $27 million from advertising, a decrease of 33% compared to the second quarter of 2012 and a decrease of 19% compared to the first quarter of 2013. With a net loss of $16 million for the second quarter of 2013 compared to a net loss of $23 million for the second quarter of 2012, the firm is not headed far. Even launching in new markets might not be of help.
