Why the Nokia Lumia Black Update is Cool

AppFolderTilesThursday Nokia said that Nokia Lumia WP8 owners  had began getting the new Lumia Black Update on their smartphones with great new features, improvements in imaging, new apps and app updates.

App Folder

According to Nokia,  the brand new App Folder makes using a Lumia more fluid by giving users chance to further personalize and organize their Start screen. Users can also group similar apps together  as a tile their Start screen say Facebook, Twitter, Gmail grouped together as social networks. This will save you time.

Nokia Glance screen 2.0

Another new feature, the  Nokia Glance screen 2.0 brings real time information into your screen complete with notifications for messages, chats, phone calls, email, calendar, Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp, or games among others. This will save your battery.

Nokia Beamer

The Nokia Beamer update enhances sharing by introducing sharing of documents, presentations, etc to any HTML5-enabled screen by simply scanning a QR code on the screen unlike just photos. However, this update is for phones with 1GB RAM upwards.

 

Nokia Storyteller

With close interactive maps, the storyteller arranges a user’s photos by date and place making it easier for one to remember whatever happened in the photos and be able to  tell stories from them. The app debuted on the new Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 last year. but has now come to other Lumia smartphones.

Nokia Camera.

Uses the Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera to make photo-taking simpler and the shots perfect. It was first available on Lumia PureView smartphones but is now coming to the rest of the WP8 Lumia range. Nokia Camera is also getting raw DNG support. The DNG format comes with pure and untouched visual information even able to be used by professional photographers. Nokia says it has also added latest generation of imaging algorithms to improve the image quality, especially in Lumia 1020 making the images appear natural with less noise.

Nokia also added the Bluetooth LE for  Windows Phone 8 Lumia range for compatible gadgets like the Adidas MiCoach accessories and the Nokia Refocus for all Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones with 1GB of RAM and upwards. The update also brings safe driving mode to cut out unnecessary distractions for drivers; customised ringtones for each contact, and possible to lock one’s screen rotation and close apps within the in multitasking view.
