Airtel Uganda Partners with Lady Golfers at Uganda Golf Club

In a move to celebrate women and support sports in Uganda, Airtel Uganda has said it will sponsor Lady Golfers at the Uganda Golf Club selected Fridays and four ladies Ladies tournaments.

The four tournaments include Gadies&Lentlemen 21st June, Tombstone 16th August, Entrepreneurship 16th November & Turkey Trot 20th December. Airtel will also sponsor Golf tutorship courtesy at golf club every 3rd Friday for 15 ladies.

This is not the firm’s first such move to support sports in the country.

Aside from golf; it has sponsored many sports activities over the years including Football, Rugby, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis and Golf amongst others as well as golf accessories. Airtel has also continued to invest in supporting sports in Uganda through the Mandela Stadium, which is currently being refurbished by Airtel and is set to be the largest and most modern outdoor stadium in Uganda.

Mrs. Annette Kiconco, head of the Pro Ladies Section Uganda Golf Club acknowledged Airtel Uagnda’s support for the golfing fraternity saying that the competition is expected to be tougher than ever this year.

For the ladies nights, Airtel has lined up a range of activities designed to engage spectators and corporate guests.
