In April we told you about the launch of Supermart, an online grocery delivery service founded by Gbolahan Fagbure and Raphael Afaedor which was initially delivering orders to Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Lekki and Lagos Island.

Today, the firm has signed a deal with Medplus, a wholesale, retail and dispensing pharmaceutical firm in a move that will see it deliver prescription medicines, supplements, dental care, special diet and sports nutritional foods, cosmetics, toiletries, perfumery, homeopathy and aromatherapy among others available online, for Supermart customers to order and have them delivered to their homes, offices or premises.

supermartlogoAlso, if you are in Ikeja, Maryland, Ilupeju, Ogba, Yaba, Surulere and surrounding areas, Supermart has good news for you. From today you can order over 30,000 items from leading retailers like Park n Shop, Spar, Office R Us, Laterna Books and have them delivered stress-free.

“There has been an enthusiastic response since we launched and today, we are extremely pleased to be taking the service to more parts of Lagos. It is also doubly exciting that we’ve added a leading pharmacy, Medplus, to the list of our retail partners,” said Afaedor.

Supermart says it saves customers at least 6 hours every week which would be wasted on driving to and from various supermarkets, looking for parking at these supermarkets and queuing at the till to pay. Its speed of delivery is also worthy of note; delivering orders to customers in as early as 3 hours in one of its three daily delivery slots (Noon – 3pm, 3pm – 6pm, 6pm – 9pm).

Gbolahan says Supermart has been getting questions from potential customers asking when we are expanding to their neighbourhood.

“With today’s announcement of the extension of our service to the wider Ikeja area, Yaba and Surulere, we are confident we will be bringing a more convenient shopping experience to these people. Our emphasis has been and always will be on steady expansion that does not dilute the quality of the service we offer”.
