Airtel Kenya has announced its support for the Mpeketoni attack victims by providing phones and SIM cards to the Kenya Red Cross team involved in the search and rescue mission for families affected by the Mpeketoni attack. The phones which can hold power for a long duration and SIM card loaded with airtime will enable the team to communicate and coordinate their activities throughout the exercise as they continue to help the Mpeketoni attack victims.
While expressing his condolence to the affected families, Airtel Kenya CEO Adil El Youssefi said that the tragic attack was a direct assault to innocent Kenyans and Mpeketoni community. Adil said that Airtel will stand together with the affected people and other well-wishers who are supporting the campaign through different initiatives.
He further said that, “This effort will provide the needed help to the people most affected by the tragedy and it also serves as an important symbol of Kenyans strength and resolve following the senseless attack witnessed on Sunday night.”
