Access Bank together with Airtel Nigeria have come together and have launched mobile money platform, powered by Airtel dubbed, Access Money.
The service will help subscriber of Airtel Nigeria and access bank to perform simple, secure and instant financial transactions using their mobile phones. With Access Money powered by Airtel customers on the mobile network can send and receive money, make deposits and withdrawals, pay their utility bills and buy airtime for their lines.
Added to the convenience, according to the company, this service provides is the ability of customers to receive money through agents nationwide or through card-less withdrawals from any Access Bank ATM machine.
Access Money also seeks to bring into the financial inclusion bracket some 34 million adults who do not have access to finance.
The Group Managing Director, Access Bank Plc, Herbert Wigwe said: ‘banking products don’t have to target high net worth individuals and the middle class; it is not acceptable that a huge segment the lower end market has been neglected over the years.’
The Managing Director/CEO, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, said the partnership will take financial services to even the rural poor.
