slider1Vodafone AppStar  2014 has been launched and the firm says it’s now bigger and better with new categories and exciting new prizes – including a trip to MWC, Barcelona and several local prizes.

 The Vodafone Appstar contest invites app developers across Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ghana & India to submit your unique and innovative apps. The winners of this contest in your country win a trip to India to participate in the international competition. Winners in the international contest will go the mecca for app developers – the Mobile World Congress, Barcelona apart from many other prizes and marketing/distribution support from Vodafone.

This contest is open for developers for the following platforms:

  • Android
  • iOS
  • Java
  • Windows Phone
  • Blackberry

Last year, Kenya hosted the second edition of the Vodafone Appstar Challenge with mobile apps developers from South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and India in which the winner took home the grand prize of USD 12,000. The competition had two phases- the national phase and the international phase of which the best two developers from the particular countries competed in Nairobi.
