Rocket Internet’s car classifieds site Carmudi has launched in Rwanda to allow users find vehicles of their dreams, in a move to be Africa’s biggest car classifieds platform with recent launches in Tanzania and Congo and soon launch in Kenya.
According to their new site, “Our aim is to strengthen the position of consumers by providing information on the car market, then put in contact with individuals and professional sellers. We strive to ensure that every ad should provide the accurate information on each vehicle to make your choice easy.”
Launching to take on One Africa Media’s Cheki Rwanda, Carmudi has around 123 car listings and says its role is to help users find the right car and make the link with the owner. The firm says as a member of the family Rocket Internet, it brings unrivaled experience and know-how, as well as a clear understanding of the markets in Africa.
The site, available in both English and Kinyarwanda, however, promises people in Rwanda cars from Ghana (see screen shot) and that might be confusing unless someone notices and edits.
