Nairobi’s version of Start-up weekend will be taking place from the 5th to the 7th of this month at the Nairobi Garage, along Ngong Road.
The event is for all aspiring entreprenures, entrepreneurs with new business ideas and innovators. the event is sponsored by Google Developers, start-up launch, Nairobi garage and bizzlab Kenya.
There will by key speakers in the event including Joseph Mucheru, East Africa lead at google. Highly experienced mentors and coaches will also be in attendance.
All attendees get on site mentoring, an opportunity to launch a business as well as a free business domain and website hosting. The attendees will also have the opportunity to win amazing prizes including: access to Google’s star-up launch program, office space at the Nairobi Garage, incubation at Nailab and 10 hours with a lawyer to help them set up their business.
Startup weekend are 54 hours long event where developers designers marketers come together to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startups. They take place around the world and Kenya’s 3rd edition is a hands-on experience for aspiring entrepreneurs to find out if their startups are viable. While most startup weekends attendees have technical or design backgrounds 25 percent have non-technical business backgrounds.
