The GSMA’s Director General Ms. Anne Bouverot will leave the organisation July 31 2015 to become the Chair and CEO of Morpho, a global leader in security and identity solutions.
“I am very proud of the progress that the GSMA has made in aligning with our members around key industry initiatives, driving forward important advocacy programmes and convening the broad mobile communications ecosystem at leading events such as Mobile World Congress. I want to thank the GSMA Board, our entire membership and, of course, the GSMA staff for their support over the last four years,” she said.
At the moment, GSMA is looking for her replacement.
Before joining the GSMA, Anne was Executive V.P for Mobile Services for France Telecom Orange, where she defined the strategic transformation programmes for a business serving more than 120 million customers and revenues of more than 14 billion euros at the time.
Before that, she led a 600-person business unit of Equant and was responsible for developing IT services for Equant’s multinational business customers. Anne began her career in telecommunications as project manager for Telmex in Mexico in 1991.
Anne holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in mathematics and computer science from the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and an M.S. degree from Telecom Paris. Anne was appointed as a member of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development in 2013. She also served as a non-executive director of Capgemini, a leading global provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, and as a non-executive director of Edenred, the world leader of prepaid corporate services.

We are naturally disappointed that Anne has decided to move on to a new opportunity, but we wish her every success as she takes this next exciting step in her career.”
The GSMA says it will make an announcement regarding Ms. Bouverot’s successor in due course.
